Meet Vickie Black-Vigue.....her favorite class formats are Fusion & Flip Fusion – “I love the combination of dance and strength training! Jazzercise has been part of my adult life for as long as I can remember". After a decade of taking classes, Vickie sought out certification in 2000 when she realized that people work out & stick with an exercise program when they are having fun and experience personal results (not to mention the hip Jazzercise music and cool moves!). Jazzercise allowed Vickie to meet her own fitness goals throughout the years and even helped fulfill a personal dream when she co-owned a Jazzercise Center while living in Virginia. Vickie loves watching the Federal Way Jazzercise Fitness Center business grow, help contribute to it, and be part of a team focused on helping and inspiring customers to do their best. Outside of Jazzercise, Vickie's professional background is in Human Resources leadership (SHRM-SCP) and occasionally assists her husband with the marketing for his small restaurant business. Otherwise, you can find Vickie outdoors enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest, including trail running, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cycling, & gardening.
Jessica Finnsson has been attending classes just short of 3 years at the Federal Way Jazzercise Fitness Center and has been an instructor since April 2017. Jessica says she has always loved the positive energy at Jazzercise from her first DanceMixx class back in 2016! Her favorite format to teach is Fusion because of the balance between cardio, strength, and toning. She loves getting lost in the beat and building muscle! Jessica raves about the Federal Way team of instructors and class managers being absolutely amazing in addition to all of the customers being so supportive of one another. Jessica is the Primary Learning Specialist at an Auburn Elementary School and teaches kindergarten, first, and second graders. She comes home to her husband, Karl, who enjoys cooking dinners with her nightly. When not at Jazzercise, you can find Jessica at Seattle Sounders soccer matches, making LuLaRoe flat lays, hiking popular trails, cheering on her WSU Cougs, or sipping a soy mocha at Zola's Cafe!
Heather Halbakken started going to Jazzercise classes in 2008 and became a certified instructor in April of 2017. Heather has always enjoyed dancing and Jazzercise is the perfect mix of both dance and strength training. One of Heather’s favorite things about Jazzercise, is the sense of family and community. She loves how supportive and encouraging everyone is, customers and instructors alike. Heather and her husband, David, live in Federal Way and have a grown daughter, McKenzie. Heather works full time as an office manager of a church and in her spare time, loves to read, go to movies and spend time with her family.
Maria is a proud military spouse and the mother of 3 amazing children (14, 12, and 7). She is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and has been a Jazzercise instructor for 4 years. What she loves most about Jazzercise is the music and how every class incorporates both cardio and strength work. Her
favorite thing about being an instructor is challenging customers to do their best and helping them reach their fitness goals (and having a good time doing it!).
Robin has been a Jazzercise instructor since February 2016. She took her first Jazzercise class in 1989 in Arizona and fell in love with the program.
Robin believes age is only a number and that we can be strong and fit at any point in our lives. She wants to show people, especially women, that we can be active and healthy as we age and what a better way than to lead by example.Teaching Jazzercise at our center has lead to many lifelong friendships with both clients and the instructor team.
Jennifer Martin has been attending classes since fall of 2014, and quickly made the decision in spring of 2015 to go through instructor training. She has been instructing at Federal Way Jazzercise Fitness Center and in the South Puget Sound area ever since. Her love of dance plus the combination of strength has made Jazzercise her preferred fitness routine. She also loves how adaptive the moves are - she was even able to Jazzercise throughout her entire pregnancy with her daughter. Jennifer is recently certified in POP Pilates, and she is excited to see her strength continue to improve.

Melissa Borland has been a class manager with Federal Way Jazzercise for approximately 10 years, and has been participating in classes for about 12 years. Melissa says Jazzercise is like a second family to her. Candice was first introduced to Jazzercise by one of her friends in the spring of 2017. She started attending regularly and jumped at the chance to be a class manager soon after. Some of the reasons she loves being a student here are the friendly atmosphere among the entire Jazzercise team, the relationships she’s built with fellow classmates, having a well-balanced workout she doesn’t have to plan herself, and the tools and encouragement to live a happy, healthy life all around. Having some accountability to a tangible group of real, local people has kept her motivated to keep showing up and work out.
